feels like fuel starvation going uphill???

99/4.6 hse, hi guys, when on uphill on m/way at 70mph+,
the engine feels like is not getting enough fuel, so speed drops
off, putting the pedal down makes it worse, level out, it's ok again.
any ideas??????? thanx

More that likely MAF sensor problem.

Ditto with the Wammer....

Definatley sounds like inducted air issues....

Also, would a dodgy Head Gasket cause loss of power??....thoughts anyone....??

sounds like my old one and that was ait flow meter.

Sounds exactly like symptoms when I got my P38 4.6 6 months ago. Air meter was the issue. And it has just crapped out again!! See "Mass Air Meter Misery"

not got round to fitting a new maf yet, had other stuff to fix first...
new tyres... goodyear.. 18", good handling and grip, 30psi front, 38psi rear,
a little tram lining, will play with pressures some more to see if i can improve
handling, passed mot with no problems, and lots more bits to fix/repair,
lots of ££££££'s to earn first!!
swopped hi level brake lights to led's, and front park lights, and rear plate lights,
the rest will get done soon, S.

First remove or replace air filter element then try it to see if its restricting airflow.

air filter was replaced in sept 10, tho i will fit a k&n when i get around
to it... i work away a lot so not much home time or time for the RR,

The K&N is a waste of money

Unplug the MAF and take it for a run,it should drive better with it unplugged if it's knackered.

new 'maf'.. problem solved...again... thanx !!.. your help is really appreciated ..
and... no k&n filter...thanx datatek..

It sounds very similar to the problem I had with my 2000 4.6 ! Got it diagnostics, coil pack and MAF sensor.
