Hi guys,

Just thought I would share some good news. I know many of you are the equivalent to a kung foo master when it comes to working on P38's but as a newbie its all fresh to me. I have a 1998 2.5DSE which was making a rhythmic humming when turning right. Looked at various threads and thought the front nearside cv joint was fubar. After much tea, loss of knuckle skin and alienating my neighbours with much swearing the little bas***rd came out. Boot was knackered and cv joint full of crud. Followed the advice you all give out and bingo......new one in. Checked bearings etc whilst at it and seems okay.

Just letting you all know from

1. A sense of self satisfaction because until I got a p38 I couldn't tell one end of a spanner from another.
2. To thank you all for sharing your knowledge

I love the old bus. I find it great fun despite some frustrations along the way and it gives me an excuse to get outside doing something without the missus nagging me to put up shelves.

Cheers

Buzz

No offence taken, although I'm strictly on the receiving end of treatment like that.

Hold on, I may have misunderstood the philla-whatever word there. Wikipedia ...
