sam,you asked for feedback,but because not everyone has the same opinion as you,there is no need for these smiley's is there.
Firstly not saying I don't wish that place existed , as I do , it would be the perfect place. I'm saying that we couldn't find it .....
So then we are faced with a reality that we have a site that isn't the ideal - but that ticks a lot of boxes in terms of a compromise. I guess we need to get an understanding that for some unless it was an ideal site they wouldn't be interested in attending - which isn't a criticism by the way , just a reality , and to accept that we are not going to be able to find a venue that suits all , rather than stiving for the impossible but to try to address the majority of peoples needs

Tbh.... people who refuse to attend cos they don't wanna rough it thats their problem. .. they can either put up with roughin it for a couple of nights or not go.... no one can expect the perfect site perfect location perfect toilets perfect showers etc... dont fookin come if your that fussy. ... I dont eat anythin they cooked apart from bacon.. no sausages or burgers. . But I still ate at the site and didnt moan about it....
You cant please every fooker and some peepa need to compromise or lose out.

yes i agree entirely, but now that it has been decided that another party is possible for next year then it might be better to try more options/venues.
To be honest it wasn't really a compromise. It suited those who like camping and beer tents etc. It looks like it was a fantastic do for those who like that sort of stuff. Perhaps the way forward is to accept that it will be a minority do and enjoy it.
Maybe someone will organise an event for those of us who would prefer to meet on tarmac, drink in a pub, eat in a restaurant and sleep in a bed with en suite

imo the main point is to meet people you have spent an awful lot of time communicating with.
accommodation and food are important.. but secondary.
if this was in true landy spirit you would have to bring your own tools and build your own shelters
