Fault on heater controls

HI, Have a 2000 4.0 hse which has a book image on the heater display screen. It permanatly blows air to the screen and footwell but will not change to vents ect after pressing the relavent button.
any ideas what it could be.
Also heated seats not working although lights on the switches come on.

blend motors and heated seat elephant!
