fault code 1470 freelander 2005

Hi,

I purchased the above vehicle this week and had the following problem. When I put the car under load ie above 60mph or over 3500rpm the engine caution management light illuminates and the car suddenly drops in power and has no response with the accelerator,

I understand this is normal practice when the EML comes on to restrict the speed, it also runs heavily on fuel. I visited the local garage who finds the above fault code 1470.

He of course scratches his head and tells me he knows nothing about Landrovers!
I can only presume its
a vacum pipe or a diesel boost problem could anybody please help.

Thanks for the info, have been told by another garage its the Variable Induction System at fault. I am taking the car into a Landrover Dealership on Monday they can sort it out its still under warrenty... thankfully
