Hi all, i was hoping someone could help me, im currently trying to replace my radiator, and reading posts and watching numerous videos where the shroud is all ready removed, i still can not remove my shroud, it does not seem to pass the fan as the space between fan and rad is too small, im obviously missing something as every where i look they say its a simple task, so why am i still stuck with the shroud on, can not access the fan with it on, also which way do i tap the spanner to release fan? clockwise or anti clockwise?

Thanks all in advancer

Fan and shroud come out together. You can replace radiator without removing shroud.
Thanks for swift response ok so they come out together, I have the viscous fan tool from Halfords and am struggling to 1. get it on the bolt and 2, not enough of spanner to hit to shock it, also is it clockwise?

Yes, as per Wammers' reply. Follow Rave apart fan and shroud removal.

Remove front grill, then slam panel. Remove top and bottom hose and unbolt radiator at bottom. Unbolt power steering reservoir. Finally unclip shroud so its loose and move back towards engine as far as you can and slide radiator out. Refit is the reverse of removal.

Listen to Wammers and EntropyUK!

However, for future reference the fan is reverse thread on the diesel.

Managed to get fan and shroud off and have replaced the radiator thanks all, very easy when you have the right tools and information.

I keep wondering if the shroud off the petrol would fit as it is in 2 halves with clips near the top. It would make so many jobs (like serpentine belt) so much easier.
