Hi All,
OK so just been outside repairing the "park" mechanism for the front wipers on my 94 300tdi Discovery and while completely such a boring task my mind started to wonder.

Hmm, they made an overdrive for the old series Landy's would it fit this Disco?

Its an early 300tdi Disco with R380 gearbox and LT230 transfer box. I know there are GKN and Roverdrive units out there but these are expensive and difficult to find (I'm really just considering this as another "project" for a rainy day)

Does anyone know if the Series Fairey Overdrive unit will fit to a LT230 transfer box in my 300 tdi Disco? I presume body work modifications would be needed to get it to fit but that it does not bother me, its the main fitment to the transfer box and mechanic functionality I am interested in realy?

OK. I thought it was a long shot and if it would then it would have been documented on here and other internet places.

I presume your reference to good intro was as I did not introduce myself. :)

I'm afraid I do things as I think about them if not I forget. Hence why when I was thinking about it I registered and asked this question. You will then notice when I was next sat at the laptop I introduced myself in the welcome area.

Try and be friendly to new users I have seen far to many forums annoy new members and make them not feel welcome by long term members giving the "search is your friend" reply. along with (and this is more on the Jap import sites / clubs I was in) the 10K answer as I always called it :)

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'm now off to play wiring in a 101 that is being revamped then I might take a look at my 300tdi Disco and tick a few more jobs off my list this afternoon.

The difference is......a **** load of members sign up ask a question then **** off never to be seen again after getting their help. No contribution back or anything so sometimes it's more fun and practical this way

Maybe they **** of due to the response they get to there questions????

Anyway, I will hopefully be able to contribute as both my vehicles are Discoveries I only have the need for one forum here now. And of the course the obligatory facebook groups lol
