Fag lighter keeps fusing

The fag lighter keeps fusing. Can't use my lamp, or charge my phone, or anything.

Any ideas?

You may have another problem and this is just one symptom ...

What else runs on that fuse ?

To be honest I don't know what else runs off that fuse? the fuse at the moment is broken and everything seems to be working.

I initially thought it must be the wiring? So might just wire a new lighter socket in direct from the battery.

The fuse is for the accessary circuit as the socket is on that circuit on the later D1s.
For your information and depending on you model of disco u can have the vanity mirrors and heated seats using the same fuse.. So what else has been fitted to this circuit?

First thing is to remove wires from the back and refit a fuse to see if there is still a problem, no further fuse issues then fag lighter is the problem, then just replace the fag lighter as they can go faulty where the prongs get bent and touch the other contact giving a dead short, I replaced one in the truck this week and all that has ever done is run the navigation, new fag lighter and all tickety boo again.

The problem is usually the dodgy charger you bought in the market ...
