I would have thought that the main beam would already be on a relay? hmm I'll have to check that out. Can you get those bulbs for my king of headlamps? ie 300s?

Yes I would also assume the main beam to be on a relay, however as I was putting bulbs in that draw nearly twice the power  I thought it best to use the normal main beam feed just as a trigger to the relay and let the new heavy wiring (directly from the battery) feed the bulbs, tell you one thing, they're bloody bright!

I got my bulbs from Halfords they are packaged as "Rally" bulb 130/90W in red box, they were "only" £10 each, have seen Demon Tweeks etc sell them for more than that though.

Now here's a thought .................

What if an unscrupulous person were to go and buy expensive bulbs from Halfords, carefully remove them from their boxes, fit them and put the old bulbs back in the posh packaging, then return them to the store saying they were the "wrong kind" and get a refund ................. Smells like free bulbs to me! :D :p

Yes and some poor sucker will end up paying £20 for a pair of 55/60w bulbs and when they take them back to Halfrauds they say "yeah right the old put the old bulbs in the box and take them back trick..."

Fair enough, it was just a thought!

The new lights look good.
Is there anyway of buying a fog light kit which comes complete with the wiring etc and cutting the holes in the bottomn spoiler and fitting them yourself? I was thinking of the same lines for my Discovery as the fog lights seem to complete the look of the front as well as the added bonus of extra light in bad conditions?

each to their own i know, but it aint for me.
i cannot justify 75 squid for 2 headlamps just for posing!

maybe if me headlights were to fail the mot test, then its a slight possibility.

Hello all,

Does anyone have any idea if the 2003 facelift light (the cluster type) will be a straight swap into a series II???

Trust me - these are not Disco 2 lights, don't believe everything you read, especially on ebay!!

Disco 2 (facelift) light -

Disco 3 (2004) on light as per ebay photo -
media

and why would you wanna ruin a perfectly good looking disco 1 and make it look like it crashed into a halfords shop window?
