What size bolts hold the systems together? I have to take mine apart to fix a few things and the bolts on there are not going to cooperate, in fact I'm not bothering with spanners, going in with the angle grinder to get it apart (the really are that bad) however I need to know what size bolts to buy when I am ready to put it back together. I am on about the bolts holding the centre box to the front and tail pipes

They are not bolts, they are threaded rivets that are installed whilst red hot.

When I've works on rotten versions, I angle grind them off then re-drills the flanges to use standard nut and bolts.

My car has already had this done then! they are defiantly nuts with bolts and very rotten. what size nuts and bolts do you use?

That will depend on the size of the hole sir, so measure the diameter of the existing bolt at the threaded end, if u find its 10mm then it a M10 bolt , if is 12mm its M12, 14mm M14 and so on. Then all u need to know is the length required for the bolt including the nut... simples. :)
If u purchase stainless steel items they won't rust as bad as your existing nuts & bolts

I normally use M10 on them as that's what size the original studs are, I would just use normal bolts as stainless have a habit of binding up against them selfs if you ever need to ale it apart again

Oh dear, my Janspeed SS system was bolted together with stainless bolts six years ago but with, as always, a dab of copper grease, but then I don't expect to go there again to put it to the test. :)
