Ex-military door top

The other day my passenger side door which is military and series style. Split to top and bottom. The bolts holding it snapped. Rusted. So I took it off and the bolt was rusted solid to the top thread. So took windows out and got a new nut and welded it to the bolt and removed it. New rubber strip on and back on. Hour work.

Grease them up before refitting them.
No more rust issues.

Need to do mine at some point, re-paint and waxoil insides. Bit rusty but not too bad, may look into new window runners for drivers side to reduce rattles.

i dismantled both mine to sort the messed up runners. now one of them doesnt lock on the tab thing on the door!

Nobber. I didn't use original bolt or anything. I made two up from m10 or m8 thread etc with double nuts locked off and washer. Yes I removed the locker for window. And same thing so I added a rubber glued to the end of the thing It hold window now. Popp riveted all back with sealant too. But after adding rubber between top and bottom I have now slight gap between frames and pillars lol !!
