just joined (at last)

been on the lanes round chelmsford / harlow on and off for years.

wondered if anyone goes out during the week as most of my weekends are busy :(

Hi there, Welcome to Essex lanes.

I work nights and nights of weekends, so I'm only available during the days. (all these other Gits wanna go out the nights I work) lol

Me and Dan are going out on Monday 7th at 2pm around Essex. Your welcome to join us, i reckon we will be finished by about 8 (I hope so because that's what time I've got to pick our son up)

If you wanna come, I will let you know the meeting point.

Big thank you to Matt for supplying and fitting my starter motor. (it would have been a nightmare with my socket set from littlewoods catalogue)

Hi guy, good to hear you got that sorted mate and by the sounds of it without getting your delicate vinyl spinning hands dirty!

Checked the weather and we should have a fair amount of rain by then so should be a good afternoon - looking forward to it!:D

My "pretty" delicate vinyl spinning hands - that pulls out my laptop and hits the button that's says "auto mix"

I've noticed today my gearbox and transfer box breathers end in the engine bay lol so I will be extending them!! (why do the axles and timing case but leave them 2) not to mention leave me with a battery not big enuf to start a lawn mower!)

Previous owner .............????

Ahh! that reminds me I must get round to my timing case breather! I didn't get round to that one when I did the rest... - There is your answer guy:D

Nice looking work shop there matt, I like it, wish I could find something like that around here, I no where to have my galv chasis delivered next year now;):D:D:D do ya reckon that new shovel you found would fit on the wing of me fender:D:D
Hope the rain stays away tomorrow, got to weld in new door bottoms for a mates 90, that should pay me fuel costs for Wales:)

Picked up one of those professional tool boxes from Halfords today, managed to buy the display one and get a tenner knocked off:) now all me tools are in one place but the thing ain't half heavy, think I should have got one with wheels on:doh:

Fitted me diff guards and removed the tow bar and fitted jate rings today Aswell just got to do me wheel bearings and change oils and I'm done for our trip:D:D
Misus has been going barmy, saying I'm spending to much time on me landy, she don't seam to understand that I'm taking little man away with me and the 90 needs to be tip top, although she don't mind me working on other peoples motors and earning money funny that eh

Oh the joys of eBay.... will see if the people I spoke to yesterday turn up for 2 different engines or not..... :( Also got my van wheels that should be collected but the guy sounded like an idiot :( Fook sake!

In other news..... I should be able to get my breathers and nooorkel sorted this weekend and hopefully get the body mount bolts in. Just waiting for some bungs for the various grommet holes that need filling. Got to fit the jate rings back on and sort out all my recovery stuff for Wales.

I'm also thinking about shoving a set of ES leather seats in but I'm still undecided. I'd *like* a set of bucket seats that actually fit as the ones I had purchased were too wide

anything you'd recommend matey?

ive got recovery points on my bumper and steer guard, winch on the front bumper, a hi lift in the tub and a wacking great big nato hitch on the rear, anything else?

I was thinking about some jate rings? need to stock up on some ropes and strops too....

Just get some straps now and you'll be fine. You won't go wrong with your NATO. Welded bumper points are fine unless you do competition work where some rule sets layout that they need to be bolted and not welded.

Am I pleased with the floor? Or the workshop in general? We've got about 80 acres to play on here now :D Space for 30 breaker vehicles and lots of toys.
