 would you be so kind to have a look at this ere pic and tell me if this is safe:eek:

spotwiring001.jpg

now then, the 3 long wires into the little white thingy on the right side of pic connect straight to battery via another cable which is still in landy, the 3 long wiggly wires then go to the big white thingy on the left side of the pic, then into the fuses then out to the switches, oh and the big cooker wire bottom left connects to the spotlight wires:eek:

reet - lets start again - yu have 4 switches and some spot lights and a battery and some fuses.
What do you actually want to achieve?
are the spots individually switched?
are there other things switched?
what are the 6 fuses for?
how many spot lights?
What Wattage are the lights?

I cant understand why you seem to have a wire going thru a fuse , linked back, thru another fuse and off to something else - that is unnecessary and wasteful.

don't know what wattage the lights are Ring halogens x 4 is all i know
they are all on 1 switch,
then there is a rear spot on another switch,
2 internal lights on separate switches,
1 fuse for cigarette lighter and 6th fuse was for the stereo ( which i ripped out ages ago )
1 internal light seems to be fooked so i'll probably rip that out too, I'm good at the ripping out part lol, ;):D

what i ideally want is a similar set up, ie: front spots on one switch, rear spot 2nd switch and 1 internal light on 3rd switch,

I need to know wattage of the spots, to work out wire & fuse sizes.
do yu still want a ciggy lighter fused and a spare fuse for stereo/aux?

ok will have a looky in the morn to see if i can find what the wattage is, had a quick look with me torch but can't see much.
would still like ciggy lighter but not bothered about stereo/aux, could never hear the thing anyways lol
:praise: thank you muchly for helping mr MHM sir

i would say the spots will be 55w h1 or h7 (maybe h3) bulbs in which case 55w/12v = 4.5A each
(watts law VxA=W or W/V=A) (coincidently it also gives a resistance of 2.61 ohms)

so each lamp will draw 4.5A

so individually i would use 8A rated wire and a 7.5A fuse

I refer you to Rave...

but i might increase the wire to 2.0mm, if LB wants - as I said - just a quick thought.
