Engine Warning Light

About half an hour ago whilst driving the Amber Engine light came on and remained on. I stopped straight away to call my local LR garage and they were closed. I drove back home, I THINK there might be a little loss of power.

What could this be?

I have a LR 90 XS and just passed it's MOT last week!

Standard 2.4td four cylinder.

MOT has feck all to do with the engine bar emissions.

It's a 2008 model.

Hate engine management warning lights...

Unless something obvious has blown up/fallen off under the bonnet then the best course of action is to plug it in to a computer, and it will tell you what is wrong with it.

Of course you will need to take it to a garage for this, unless you have the relevant equipment or know someone with it.

Yesterday morning I started the vehicle, and the light came on as per normal with all the other lights on the dash, then the engline light turned off and remained off. I drove several miles and it did not come back on.

I'll still bring it into the garage to be put on the machine. Nothing has fallen off (I don't think), nothing sounds out of the ordinary.
