Hi Chrissie, I can sympathise with the "service" complaint. Not sure if yours was from a main dealer or private seller. I got my TD4 from Heathwood's now Stratstones near Heathrow and all I've had is crap service and bull**** from them. If you do get a replacement engine or Freelander get the TD4 its a beaut! and as for speed my little baby can get 120 not bad for a "Gaylander" as they are called on here by the testosterone replacement recipients. Hope it works out. Clive

well whatever you do DONT get anything done/fixed to the vehicle, make sure you document EVRYTHING thats happened and get a reputable mechanic to provide you with a comprehensive report on the vehicle - if you ever get to court it's usually the peeps with the biggest piles of papers that wins

and as has been said before dont tell anyone you drove fer 5 minutes at 90 after hearing a bang from yer engine - how much did you pay fer it btw ?

l will do thanks :) trading standards said lve a good case so hopefully l will win if not l know where he lives (and his a ferarri)

so if yer gaylander is your baby, what did you have to shag to conceive it? and are you the proud? dad of all gaylanders or just yours?

and is the reason they kept breaking down due to a shallow gene pool?

Im just wondering what 120 mph feels like in a freelander?
I thought that sort of speed was just a dream?
And a bit mad me thinks:rolleyes:.
Bought mine as a general purpose vehicle and 80 is def fast enough in mine...
D

all those cogs and gears spinning around to do 120mph makes my stomach feel strange

and that poor little thing in the middle called a VCU, Prop comes off at that speed it will be like a war head coming through the floor

Yer a brave lad hoping any part stamped with LR on it can be relied upon for you life at 120mph

Your signature is very apt though

Oh dear I seem to have upset so many people by pointing out that my 2004 "Gaylander" TD4 HSE command shift with all the girlie extras is capable of 120mph. Well pop pickers I was surprised myself that such a beast was capable of such speed even after being chipped, but that little BMW diesel turbo power pack did do it quite comfortably! It was however done on a runway so no law breaking there - perish the thought I might have to take myself to task! Though it does regularly cruise on the M3 at a steady 90mph with no vibration or problems. So Sean it is a "little risky" and Tatooboo its definately not a dream and no its not my jet. Mr "wet fish - I'll have a pound of rock salmon" Sirus there is no recovery truck in sight and Shutty and Slob - I laughed so much my sides split! Not bad jokes for a pair of REMFs :)

I wasn't joking i was deadly serious, The engine may do it but at that speed for a 4WD of any size let alone something with parts as reliable as a LR, You seriously need to have a look at yerself

REMF's Im presuming it means something insulting

REMF = Rear Echelon Mother ****er.

ie One who has no frontline or combat experience, and therefore makes huge errors at expense of human life.

corse it also means "Rotterdam Electronic Music Festival" but I dint think that was wot he meant;)

Spot on Mr MHM! Chill Mr Shutty I'm moved that you are worried for my mortality - however the 120 was a one off on an air field - not my usual speed in my Lanny - as for looking at myself my psychiatrist says I'm fine !!
