Engine shake

Hi all, driving my series yesterday and all's well, then just I was coming home the engine lost some power and started shaking, juddering quite badly. Checked oil and it was low so topped up this morn and still the same. A lot of shaking, i dont want to drive it like this, even to the mechanic. Can't see anything obvious.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Petrol diesel size etc might help.
Check your engine mountings also.

Down a cylinder?

As Aidso said, plug or HT lead to one cylinder or perhaps problem with points or distributor moving.

try spraying your ht leads with damp start, it seal them from damp and prevents arking,they are prone in this damp weather

Head gasket had blown! In the middle of fixing now
