Right Guys, Due to change my engine oil, the question is what brand of oil, i know its 15W/40, can i go into Halfords and buy the halford oil from their data sheets information packs. I just want a good brand name that has been tried and tested by you guys out there, that will look after my engine. Cheers:confused:

Ive always used comma oil in past, seems as good as any and relativly cheap, there are loads of threads on this if you search.
Basically how much do you wanna pay is what it comes down to, at the end of the day oil is oil its only the badge you pay for.

well Landy10,funny thing this oil, i'v been running my chainsaw on Stihl oil for about two years, this lubes the chain, then the other day i ended up talking to a construction site manager who is a qualified tree surgen with all the forestry exams you can ever wish for, he looked in my van and said " use normal engine oil". Well that cut my cost down and profit up and i am surrounded by the stuff, using fully synthetic thought might be taking the micci. Comma is ok, ran my P38 on it.

I use that Halfords stuff. Sound as a pound.

I dunt use Valvoline ackterley - just thought it was a bit funny that "Pussy eater" might use vulvaline for lubrication, that's all.

ahh, sorry widget, bit slow on the uptake

Tractor Universal is as good as it gets.

If it can stand up to what FARMERS do, it must be the best of stuff!

I use it in all vehicles and engines here, from SAAB 900 Turbo, Disco TD5, right through generators and the Lister CS standing engine from 1942.
