engine noise

Hi I am new to this forum but have looked for and found answers to my problems before. The problem I have is that my newly acquired Freelander has a cd multichanger under passenger seat. This in itself is no problem but the engine noise which it picks up is. How can I stop this. I cant for the life of me think it has been doing this for the past 11 years or were the previous owners all deaf.Any advise would be greatly received as I have a great Dick Francis I want to listen to.

:welcome2:have you change the head unit, changed mine now have a whining, whislte been told there is a smaall box from some car audio centres can fit that cut this out. not tried it yet
