Ok changed the head gasket twice now first time with old bolts now has new gasket and new bolts starts up and cuts out has no revs on rev counter and when it does run has no power and can't even get off drive in need of sage hlep or a petrol can is in its near future.

rev couter wire goes on w terminal on alt .why have you done it twice ,did you locate with dowels on block face,does it feel like fuel shortage ,did you reset tappets

i did it twice as i messed up the torque i didn't reset the tappets as i put rods back in same holes, seems it will run eventually but its chucking out blueish smoke when i can get it to run and very lumpy

why did you change gasket ,has pistons picked up on bores ,you need to reset tappets each time,was head warped

Ok reset tappets now running but i've lost the rev counter any ideas please.

Wire to back of alternator broken/missing?

Cheers Mad Hat Man a wire on the back of the alternator had indeed come off so finally 2 weeks after the beast breaks down she now lives now to start the damn welding
