Ok so I need help urgently!

Since I bought my P38 the key buttons have only occasionally worked and it oftens come up with the thread title message on my dash but usually ends up working.

Thought I'd change the batteries but now I can still open the door with the key but can't get Past the immobiliser issue.

I've read so many things about re-syncing the key but nothings working and I can't get it started!

Any help greatly appreciated!!
 
Hi,

I've found when mine does that, if I get out and lock the door with the key, take the key out of the door, then use the remote to unlock it and get in and start it it works ok, provided i turn the key in the ignition quick enough.
 
The buttons to lock and unlock are not working at all now and the car never came with the Eka code. Can I just call a main dealer to get that??

Also it's not something I'd want to do everytime I wanted to start it really.

Thanks for the replies but are there any more suggestions how to maybe re programme or something similar?
 
I had this issue not too long ago, if your key is being temperamental, touch the metal part of the key on the drivers side rear quarter window, where the lines are, it should unlock the car remotely. This should deactivate the the immobiliser and allow you to start it up.

Does the central locking work when you use the key in the door or does only the drivers door unlock?
 
Ok I've decided to just be patient and get the EKA code when the main dealers open tomorrow. I know this is meant as just a temporary fix but does it keep the immobiliser off or does it need to be entered every time?

Once you have entered the correct EKA code,you will be abke to start the engine.You can then resync the keyfobs and you will be back to normal ops.
