EML came on yesterday, didn't notice any effect, maybe slightly sluggish, could sit on motorway at 70 cruising fine.Light eventually went off, but came back on again.
Checked with code reader when home and came up with P0046.

Also noticed when opening bonnet fine film of oil all over front of engine bay...covering fans, headlights ,coolant pipes, even on bonnet stay. ( there was no oil there last week ).

No sign of any oil near cylinder head injectors etc.

Hopefully assuming some pipe or gasket is leaking, any thoughts ?

Also noticed lot of oil on dipstick handle....could this be where its coming from ?
Check all the boost pipes, but the common one to fail is on the left of the intake trunking, where the hose rubs through on the screw hidden below. This is also in the vicinity of the dip stick, so definitely check that hose first.

Would this big flipping split in the bend of the pipe cause these issues.
Sorry about the crappy quality.

Dipstick removed for photo purposes....it does live there.. honest

it certainly would.
a turbo boost fault code .. loss of power 'n a bit of oil from the turbo in the hoses , spraying out.
[ a small amount of oil in the post-turbo hoses be normal ]
..
might be an idea to check out the silicon-hose replacement kits.
..

Is it part number PNH000020 ?
looks like it might be the one ..
https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk/td4-intercooler-hoses-13896-c.asp
just be aware there are 2 types ..
one for those vehicles with the inline air-temp.-sensor ..
[ situated in a shot plastic duct .. directly above the oil dipstik .. ]
'n one for those without it.
...
and .. where it connects to the bottom of the intercooler,
be sure to place the securing clip .. behind the pipe 'lip' ..
..

It's the one with the inline sensor in a short bit of pipe between this and the plastic pipe assembly.

Also as expected the jubilee clip at the bottom is the wrong way around:( ( will have to cut the clip....2 mins with dremel :) )

i was just re-looking at those hoses online ..
am Not sure if that particular hose need be of 2 different types ..
[ i replaced mine with a silicon-hose kit .. so not sure of LR part numbers for them .. ]
```
maybe phone .. or email
https://www.advancedfactors.co.uk
to double check
[ suggested, as they run a very good service
[ and know their landrovers ..
[ helpful ppl .. all in all.
.
Thought while I am waiting for the part to turn up, might well change the air filter & crankcase filter.
Anyhow came across this ( below ) whilst retrieving a dropped 5mm hex key. :oops:
Seems to look like a pipe is missing from that....couldn't see anything dangling ?
( I think its the top of the gearbox )
That's the auto box breather pipe.
From the factory it doesn't have a pipe connected to it. However if you might drive through deep water, then extending that pipe to the fuse box height is a very sensible move. ;)
