Guys and Gals,

I need some help on a problem with my Freebifter.

I've had some work done on it recently during the course of which the immobiliser has been armed and now refuses to come off. It's that bad the garage had to bring it back on a low loader and drop it on my driveway!!!

Anyway I'm halfway there. I've got the emergency access code thing and that works but as soon as you switch off the immobiliser cuts in and its back to square one. The book says you can re-synchronise the key fobs but doesn't really say when to do this in the whole emergency access process. I've tried it at all stages and with each fob but they will not re-synchronise. The batteries are OK I believe as I've stolen a battery from the wife's cars fob and swapped it over.

SO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...can somebody tell me how to re-synchronise the key fobs as this having to wait 6 minutes to drive off is doing my head in!!!!

P.S. As soon as I sort this, she is off for a valet and a photo session, I'll post the pics as soon as I get them!

If the remote lock / unlocks ok it should be in sync but LR says "Handset resynchronisation - If the handset fails to lock or unlock the car, this
may be because the coded signal transmitted by the handset, and the signal expected by the alarm control unit are no longer synchronised.
To resynchronise the handset, operate either button of the handset at least five times in quick succession (in close proximity to the vehicle)."
You may need to disconnect the battry first.

PS. is the key being detected by the transponder in the ign switch as a valid key, and no I don't know to check this, sorry.

I've been pressing the buttons on the remote fob till my fingers go numb but with no luck. They do absolutely nothing, the only way I can unlock or lock her is with the key.

Will removing the battery and re-connecting make any difference?

The book also babbles on about putting the key in position II, anybody a clue how the hell that would make the remote fob synchronise?

The last time I had to re-sync the tailgate window I also had to re-sync the key fob, this was after disconectining the car battery.

it sounds like you will need to reprogram the fobs which is carried out on l/r diag machine,

i take it it is pre 01model year? the plip remote has to be by the ignition barrel to mobilse the engine, hence if this does not work then the eka code has to be inputted every time you want t o start car,
01 model and above have different security system where the transponder is in the ignition key and a fob is not req to start the car

It is indeed a pre 01 model. I'm trying to get a conclusive answer to my problem, are we saying that in the first instance I should disconnect the battery and upon re-connecting try to the re-sync procedure?

Failing that are we saying it's a trip to a dealership to have my leg lifted by the dealer?

you can try that, if you have not allready tried, and yes a re sync at dealer will be req, if that does not work for some unknown reason im sure they will let u know,

if u dont wanna take to a dealer are there any l/r independants near you they should be cheaper

PROBLEM SOLVED.

Turns out the remote recevier located on top of the speedo had become disconnected so no matter what I did with the fobs it would never have worked. Glad I found it before a dealer decided to charge me an hours labour and the £35 standard charge for re-synchronising the remotes!

Thanks to all who offered suggestions!!!

My remote dont work, what should i connect here (no1)? This wire is disconnected.
I just got new remote receiver, do i need to resync? Five times quickly pressing dont work...

The plastic green box with the yella label is the radio frequency receiver which receives the signal from the fobs. It should have a black connector connected. The green connector should have a home to connect to. Try looking at the rear of the panel through the windscreen to see which if there's a missing connection.

If I remember correctly the black wire is the antenna. It is only connected at one end. The receiver needs to be the same frequency as the fobs. If in UK it will read 433.92MHz on the receiver. Japan is 315MHz if I remember correctly.

Tnx, then i need reprogramming and is a job for a LR service in Serbia, because green box/reciever is a second hand from another hippo :)
