I can't find anything either. I've been told that there is a multifunctional relay that various things run off. There's no sepèrate relay for headlights, interior lights, etc they all run through this one relay. And the way it's playing up that would sound about right. Just don't have Haynes on me and don't know where it is.

that is bollox. the lights go thru the steering stalk. no relay

why dont you read the electrical diagram?

Thanks for that post MHM, kinda clears up the fact that mine doesn't have them as far as I can see!

My chassis is JA020*** and I do not have a loom to the battery, on mine the only positive battery cable goes direct to the starter, then from the starter to the bulkhead, then inside it goes to the single fuse box.

Maybe the diesels were wired different??

All fusable links are fine. It must have a relay and the load of cb radio, spot lamps, fog horn had become to much and it is malfunctioning. It's not on/off randomly as it would if bad earth or loose connection bit is either completely off or completely on for the same amount of time then all back on again until flash high beams which must be over loading relay then it cuts out until cools then it comes back on.

Seems the lights don't go through a relay, maybe it's the battery when you flick the beams it can't keep up with the amps needed and trips everything out until the voltage is stablised, would indicate knackered alt or dirty connections.

or the other thing i can think of is between the stork and terminals to the beams there is a broken/bear wire which is tripping it out.

or i maybe talking bollocks lol

I've ripped the ridiculously large air horn off it that was directly into headlight wiring with no fuse, relay, etc. the compressor was massive with 5 air horns hidden away behind grille. Found them when removing arches to patch rust up. Have patched drivers side up today and doing footwell tomora. Bloody nightmare. The more I but out the more ****e I found. But drivers side done and solid as a rock.

Havnt had chance to put her back together to see if removing that stupid horn has made any difference. Will hopefully get to that rage tomora. Depending on how I get on with footwell.
