Sorry to appear a technical duffer but where will I get a driver?

There should have been a driver disc with the cable or a link on the site you got it from to a driver. That is the problem getting stuff off eBay. They just want your money. If you have a laptop with a serial port you don't need a driver. But you must have net framework (From Microsoft) installed on it. Or EASunlock will never work.

Thanks to all of you for your patience. If it is not a stupid question why is the software and cable designed to run on a very old computer?

I have updated my profile now to show location.
Yes. It was designed to run on Windows XP with a serial port. But it will run on later systems, but can take some setting up.

Think the best thing to do is PM Datatek and get him to send you a new lead that will be compatable with you computor. Don't worry, there are many putor illiterates on this forum.:D:D:D

It lives it lives, thanks wammers strangely after a night on the battery charger I turned the key no warning message started her up went straight to normal height. Seems the low battery from me leaving the map light on for a week wasn't helping matters.

So lead n eas unlock if any one needs resetting local to me

Well done. ;);)

Update on my problems.

Halfway through mowing the lawn today I had to go in to the garage and saw the piston lying on the bench. Picked up a wood chisel and had the retaining ring of in about 30 seconds. So the two hours of trying to use a flat bladed screwdriver was a waste of time.

Hit more problems trying to follow the various videos telling me to fit the rubber ring in the groove of the cylinder head.

Tightening up refused to closed the gap between body and head. Checking out what I removed I then discovered there was was no ring fitted to my 1996 pump.

All these videos look great until you hit problems.

Pump working a treat now (linked the wires on the relay 20) so retired to fight another day.

Can I pump up the suspension using this manual trick?

Now I just need to tackle the computer unlock.

Yeah but don't run it for more than five or six minutes. If you need to run it again wait until it cools down a bit. See what you get everything may clear with good air pressure.

Can I pump up the suspension or are the bladder valves locked Wammers.

Have you come across this issue where the rubber circular gasket is not needed?

The O'ring goes in the head to seal the cylinder. Have a look for the old one it should be in there. See my other post may clear with good air.

There was no o ring in the head as removed and when I tried to fix one in the groove the head refused to tighten.

The top of the cylinder is machined to fit the groove in the head on older pumps?

Every compressor i have seen has an O'ring in the head to seal the cylinder. And a clamp ring for the piston seal. Poke around with a pointed scriber the old one maybe hard to get out. The head is machined to take an O'ring to seal the cylinder.

Just an quick update. I ran the the compressor using a jump lead across the relay pins 2 and 5. Left it running like that for around five minutes, switched it off and went and had a cup of tea. Came out to see the back end was quite high but front on the bump stops.

After trying every combination on the EAS software via my laptop managed to recognise the port and link it but to no avail. Tx ok but no RX. Did some gardening, came back, drove it around the yard and the front came up while the back went down. Took it for a three mile drive and although feeling like normal the dash is lit up like a Christmas tree. EAS,ABS,TC the works are illuminated. However the car runs like normal.

I am OK with spanners but feel like throwing computers on the compost heap.

The big question is ....do most garages have software and computers to make the lights and computers return to normal?

Can I just go two miles down the road and ask the AA to fix it with their onboard diagnostics?

Why do ebay traders send a cable and the freeware on a cd without realising it wont work?
