£40

Thanks :D

ouch i would have had a gauge, but you can get new tims delivered for less than 20

Yeah and plenty of others, autometers are between 40 and 80 each in the uk depending on model!

I'm a sucker for them that's all, had £400/worth of gauges in my Honda, have you seen the price of Defi though, makes these look like pocket change! :D

you can pretty much make any alternator fit any bracket, generally speaking the brackets are wider than the alternator tabs, just depends what orientation of mounting and what spacers etc are used

anyway, its regular serp type so im sure it'll fit or be made to fit ste's bracket

cheers :)

Bad times Ste

Serp unit is 70mm

However, checked my old V Belt unit, the one with the fan on the outside, and that's 80mm

Perhaps you need that type?

Limits your choice hugely, as far as i know the old type are only low output units.

Machine the bracket down?

Cheers!

isnt that the threaded hole your measuring?
I'm guessing it should look like this?

Non of the holes are threaded on this alternator pal

It has 4 tabs, evenly spaced both sides

My old 3 tab alt has 80 non threaded and then 1 single threaded tab up top

This must be a late type alternator

Fits mine no problem but my bracket mounts outside of the alt tabs not in between them

I will do, won't get chance till tomorrow night at the earliest, I have a spare (broken!) alternator so I'll measure that rather that getting oily.
