Hi folks,

New to this forum and hoping someone out there can help me with an intermittent issue that might be getting worse?
I’ve got a Disco 2 V8 which I have owned for only about six months now (following 20+ years of P38 ownership ). Absolutely love the truck, can’t understand why I didn’t buy one earlier TBH.
Anyway, she has a habit of going dead on me when I try to start her. No lights on dashboard, no cranking…. Nadda!!
To resolve problem, open drivers side rear door and close again. Sometimes alarm goes off, mostly it doesn’t.
Then, key in switch, all good and starts!
To me, something wrong with osr door lock but hey, what do I know?
Thanks,

Ratman.

Hi, that rear door can't have anything to do with your probem, next time try with the boot door or other passenger door and it should behave the same as those doors are all on the same circuit but even if it was something on that circuit it would not affect the dash lights whatsoever, the lack of dash lights on ignition has something to do with the main power feed circuit, start with the battery clamps to be well tightened then the main earth from the battery to the body and if these were ruled out we'll speak again, can be a problem caused by a bad contact in one of the fuseboxes, the interior one is quite often hurt by water ingress/corrosion
