electric windows

i've just bought a P38 and was told there is a problem with the front electric window, it goes up and down ok but instead of stopping when it gets to the top it trys to carry on as if the limit switch has broken, is this a common fault? what part do i need to fix it?. Also does the 4.0 V8 have a timing chain or belt?

does the window make a machine gun noise when it reaches the top? if so it needs a new window regulator, the cogs are slipping! i did mine in 25 mins unfortunatley i got my part from LR £90 as opposed to the cheaper ones on ebay! they dont come complete with motor so you have to drill out the rivets holding it on and fit it to new regulator but as i said it only took me 25 mins!
