Electric window motor failure - again!

My 2004 D2 is on its 4th (yes I have replaced 3!) passenger side electric window motor and it has just failed again. I replaced the regulator as well after the second one failed. The window channels have been sprayed with silicone lubricating spray so they are not too stiff. Im assuming that there must be some sort of electrical gremlin at work although it never blows a fuse. TBH the window is rarely used, Im normally driving and my wife doesnt like the window open when shes in the passenger seat. Id be tempted to just leave it except we're for France with the caravan and most toll booths will be on passengers side. Its got to be that these are a yearly disposable service item.
Any body else suffered this or got any ideas? All the other 3 motors are(touch wood) the originals.

Can't solve the window problem but why not get a Sanef tag? We got one last year and it makes the tolls a doddle and it hardly costs any more. If you're a Caravan Club member you can get one without paying the €10 deposit.

It makes tolls so much easier and of course you don't pay till the end of the month. My wife used to hate them but she's much happier now (till she sees the bills.....)

Sounds to me something is out of line causing stress on the motor. Does the glass slide up and down easily (door card off)? Could you have left a nut/bolt off when you repaired it the first time?

Good idea about the tag - have etoll for the motorways in Repblic of Ireland, apart from the M1 which is seperately charged!

It seems to move freely although slowly and having replaced regulator as well I think all is aligned - might be worth another check, but it can wait till the better weather.

Has the plastic protective sheet on the door been replaced . I am thinking water ingress from somewhere.

Have you checked for a faulty switch? Tested the motor with a direct current bypassing the switch?

Plastic sheet is fine and sealed with Duck tape.

Swapped other switches over, switch working fine, in fact when you press the switch you can hear it operating a relay somewhere under the dash.

Who have you bought replacement motors from? I need to replace the drivers side motor on my D2...

Various different suppliers, Island 4x4, Paddocks etc. They dont seem to be branded. Im guessing that its a vehicle fault rather than a problem with the motors given the number Ive replaced, unless of course they are cheap Chinese rubbish?
