Disco 2 window motor slow.

My son mentioned his passenger side front window is running a bit slow.
If it isn't a misalignment or some obstruction can the motor be stripped, greased put back together again?
Had similar issue on my Focus and worked a treat.

The window motor is pretty powerful item so if you haven’t tried a quick spray of silicone up & down on the runners, either side of the glass works in some cases, and other than replacing the runners.

It's simple, just try and if no joy then we can make other presumptions

When I took mine out to fix another problem, the motor had an amazing amount of water in it!
I didn't strip it or anything as it was working ok, but did just spray it with Water Displacement stuff then ran the motor off the door to make sure it was working OK.
I don't think it would be that easy to strip but I didn't look that closely as I had other things to do, like swop out the mechanism.
While in there it would be a good idea to tighten up the bolts holding the motor on to the mech as that in the end turned out to be what my problem was.

Had a look and the glass is indeed rubbing on the vertical window channel, no silicone spray so wd40 did the trick until next time.
Plastic guide in the regulator channel is broken though, quite common by the looks of it.

Yes the sliders/wheels can have issues, they look like they’re made of nylon which eventually breaks up.
So unless u can find an alternative item to use, as they are not listed as a replacement part, then it‘s a new regulator time.

It would be a great repair kit if the plastic parts were available.
Regulator price isn't so bad, my advice is to not open the window.

There are aluminum replacements on eBay from Florida. I bought a set they are great. As stated on their eBay store:
*Some minor fabrication required as the old plastic roller needs to be ground off and the new aluminium unit install in place.
