Have a madman EMS2 I'm wiring up for coolant and fuel levels, temps and pressure and few other things as well as EGT.

Trouble is the EGT probe fits the standard manifold nicely into the EGR blank but due to having an Alisport manifold on mine, I don't have anywhere to fit the probe unless I go drilling and welding a boss onto the manifold which I'm not keen on.
I think I might have enough depth on the back of the turbo if I drill and tap the piece where the factory heatshield is fitted. Can see the little boss on the back of the exhaust flange in the pic.

Will I get a reliable EGT reading here is what I'm wondering though? I guess I can just reduce the temp the warning alarms are set at to accommodate the gases after the turbo being a bit cooler than the exhaust manifold itself.

cool, thought as much but just looking for a second opinion for peace of mind :D

So if set the alarm around the 500-550 mark so or a little higher if wrap the turbo, it should be safe enough :)
