EGR disconnection on L322 TD6

Has anyone disconnected there EGR on a TD6. I have heard of others doing it on Discovery's and freelanders. If so how do you it
 
I would imagine if the car is a euro 4 compliant the EGR is electronic which means it is much more difficult to blank off i managed it on my last car which was euro 3 but my latest car can't be done which is euro4.
