They just keep coming.

You folks want to know where your pride and joys end when they are half inched?

Well I reckon this one is hiding an interesting past......

LAND ROVER 90 DEFENDER 300TDI REAL MONSTER on eBay (end time 09-Apr-11 17:01:26 BST)

Nothing but nothing about this 90 is a 1985/6 model year 90.

Whereas everything about it is a 1994 onward, now please do not tell me they took a 1985 and updated everything cos I do not beleive if someone did it would look like this.

Funny how they all seem to be 1985/6/7/8 years, just when your average Defender is beyond economic repair.

It looks like a real 300 to me so maybe there's something fishy going on with the ID.

Beyond repair at 20 years old? What you on?

Struggling with your english comprehension or just illiterate?

"beyond economic repair" spot the key word you missed.

think im missing something but other than the non-folding windscreen hinges and td5 light surrounds it could well be a genuine 1986 90.

All defenders are beyond economical repair 5 seconds after they leave the forecourt for the 1st time.....and then you have to fill up with fuel which just compounds the problem.

When did LR change the door handles and windows? My '84 model has the old series type.
As for "beyond economic repair".....don't tell me doris!!!!:D

My 90 is 1987 and it cost me a few hundred quid to weld up the chassis, new rear cross member and x2 outriggers.
in hind sight I should have just bought a galv chassis but at the time it was beyond my means.
That was the only real major things, that was a fraction of its current value, economically I can EASILY get my money back, but personally its priceless.

advert states that most of the vehicle is 98 spec wheras the chassis and vin match the 86 c plate...what more do you want mate? this whole amateur detective/junior miss marple/look at me i spotted a dodgy one thing is getting awfully tired now... surely you have better things to do with your time or are you really this sad...

Well the body was Rioja Red judging by the door shuts and bulkhead which puts it down as a late 300tdi (as long as it was originally a TD5). I don't think the later steering wheel fits the 4 spoke steering column, and wouldn't it have bars on the roof if it was that early?

You are the kind of saddo that would be whingeing that some scrote had nicked your Landy.

When they pop up on ebay like a gullible punter you spout the twaddle above.

Take a look at the clues, they are all there ......

Oh sorry I forgot the chassis and VIN match. You were right as I understand its impossible to change those on a Defender........ LMAO.

Or do you have a less savoury reason for posting your comments? They are kind of odd.

As an aside 'economic repair' or rather beyond economic repair is where it costs more to maintain a car in a road worthy (MOT able) state than it is worth.

Most Defenders when they require a new chassis fall into this category - not saying peeps do not do this but many are scrapped out and broken for spares.

I personally have brokenhalf a dozen and oddly whilst selling the more valuable parts every time I have been approached to sell the V5 and VIN plates.

Hence my original post - sorry for patronising the majority on here but one or two struggle with the basics.

first off champ, i don`t whinge, i secure and insure my property as best i can, if it goes missing, what can you do. secondly, we all know there is dodgy **** abounding on ebay and autotrader and pretty much everywhere in the trade, you are saying nothing new bud. it is however getting boring hearing every other noob and his sidekick spouting off about 'look at this dodgy motor' and 'what about this chassis'... we all ****ing know about it dude! like i said originally, imo there are too many wannabe detectives out there or maybe it`s just a case of takes one to know one ;)

You intrigue me fleck you seem very agitated yet also entirely unconcerned about the brazenly dodgy Defenders that are for sale.

This is a forum - jeez if I had a quid for every stupid poster asking a frankly obvious question that has been answered a hundred times before and found again using the search function I would be rich.

Yet your ire is that I have posted up what to my experienced eye is a ringed motor. I find that odd, perhaps no more so than other posters who knowing nothing of any value claim the car is legit.

I would stake a grand its ringed yet clearly some on here are happy to remain ignorant and would I assume consider purchase - thus continuing the theft of our cars.

All of which you also would prefer to ignore and instead turn on me with expletives and the like.

Perplexing

so instead of giving the almighty speech why not share your experience?

what do you see that makes it a guaranteed ringer?

Like I said in the OP - nothing is 1985, everything is 300tdi spec.

The part that makes me suspect the seller knows this is the claim to a new bulkhead.... must have been very lucky to find it painted in the same Riocha red the rest of the car was before it was treated to a quick disguise of mid blue.

Perhaps this is the fun part of this thread spot the differences except this time you need to try and find anything that ties the car with its year plate.

I for one could not but maybe I've missed something?

Oi retard, you've been here 60 posts and you're already the big man. Why don't you **** off and don't post again. There's also no defender that is beyond economic repair because they will always be repaired. Now **** off.
