Ha! I'm not bothered by the cost - but I am bothered if I drain all the oil and then can't fill it up again cos I don't have the right washer! :D

Annoyingly I've emailed Paddocks twice with no response and rang for ages today with no reply - useless!

well

my 35 has a huge sump plug, the head on it is about 27/28mm i reckon (cant remember what i used last time)

it has a large dia thread aswell, about 20mm or so i reckon

if it looks as big on your 3.9 then yes it will be, and tbh its hardly a massive cash loss :D

take your old sump washer heat it up until glowing then drop it in cold water. good as new a cording to ed on wheeler dealers

Thanks guys! As I said, not bothered about wasting 44p - just don't wanna be stuck with not having the right washer once I've drained the oil!

I imagine by the time I've lit a furnace and got it hot enough to get the original washer glowing red hot, it'll be cheaper to buy a new one!! :)

OK, a really easy question - is the engine sump plug washer the same on a 3.9 V8 as on a 3.5? Reason being, I want to do an oil change on my 3.9 RRC and the only washer I can find on Paddocks is for a 3.5: ETC7398 Sump plug drain washer - 3.5 V8 EFI

Is this the right one?

Ta!

May be too late now, but that's also the part number for the 3.9 sump plug copper washer according to my disco parts book:)
