Compressor will not run while the fault is present. The compressor may run, but does it produce any pressure?Needs diagnostics to read and clear the fault..Driving to work Eas fault came on 35 mph max speed I've checked fuses and put new relay in still the same I've also by passed relay and compresser works put relay back in and it doesn't work any ideas guys
Hi I left it running for about ten minutes and the back raided up
If the back rose there must be some air pressure. Looks like it could be a leaking front airspring and/or a weak compressor from feeding a leak. Whatever the case, it will not work until the fault is cleared with diagnostics.Hi I left it running for about ten minutes and the back raided up

Once it has faulted to 35 mph etc then the only way to get the compressor running as normal, as far as I understand, is to clear the fault with diag
Not so, the rear rose after he jumped the compressor. The compressor will not run while the fault is present. But it is working if the rear rose, the only thing lacking is air pressure. As you say compressor feeding a leak or compressor not delivering good air. You will get 35 mph message if suspension drops below the selected height. A big enough leak even with a good compressor would cause that. A weak compressor and a leak will most certainly cause it.

There is a bit of a conflict here. The EAS will not, or should not operate with the "Slow 35MPH" message present. The EAS has to be working or the rear would not rise. The inlet valve must be open and the two rear valves must be opening or the rear would not go up. Therefore the EAS MUST be working. You can clear as many faults as you want to but if the thermal switch has failed the compressor will never run.

The thermal trip will not as far as I know bring up the error message as there is no feedback from the compressor motor.
If the back rose when the compressor relay was bypassed, I'm beginning to wonder if the valve block is full of white powder causing leakage past the valves.
Either that or the OP had had one beer too many and it was him going down rather than the rear going up.
And at that point there is a non recoverable fault and the compressor will not run. The fault that often comes up in that situation is "Inlet valve stuck open" meaning that the demanded movement has not happened within the time period allowed. Always happy to find out something new, but I have never seen a compressor run once the error message is on the dash. There is feedback to the ECU, if the thermal switch is hot or has failed. If there is no circuit to ground through it the ECU will not run the compressor. The error message as said before will be because the sensors are showing other than the selected height. And the ECU cannot raise the suspension because there is no air. If the ECU has opened the valves but there as been no change in sensor readings over a period the message will appear. He needs to look at his compressor. If for instance you are driving at over 50 mph the car will drop to motorway height. If when you return to below 35 mph there is no air to raise the car back to standard the message will appear.

I have had something similar, but the dash message was not "Slow 35 mph" but "EAS Fault" which did indeed disappear when there was air pressure.I have, as said before it depends what the error is. Had it once when i picked up SWMBO from work. Switched off waiting for her. When i restarted 35 mph message and went down to bump stops. Compressor running but nothing happening. Turned out to be. A. Piece of rubber from god knows where stuck under compressor exhaust valve. Running but no pressure. B. A dodgy NRV 2. No or little air in tank and when ECU opened valves to fill bags all the air out of the bags went into the comparatively empty tank. Came home stripped compressor removed rubber from exhaust valve. Reconnected compressor and after a few minutes up she went. 35 mph warning disappeared. Diag showed "Invalid fault".
