Driving home from Ripon last week in my P38 2.5 DT, car going well as it had been for quite a while now and thinking to myself what a great motor she is when all of a sudden I hear a 'pop' and the suspension goes down on to the bump stops the airbag fault and 35 mph message appears on the display, by the time I get home 3 fillings had dropped out! and I felt like I had been kicked in the bollocks. I checked the compressor and it was running but not pumping any air so I got a seal kit off ebay and fitted it, compressor working fine now but still not lifting car off bump stops. I got 4 new airbags and fitted them but car still not lifting up, I have checked all air lines and found no leaks, the orange lights on the EAS switch are all on so my question is what to do next, could it be a pressure valve or a solenoid in the valve block not working or is there a procedure to follow to activate the ride height sensors, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I PM you with details, the MOD's don't like sales SPAM. I'm cheaper than Ebay:)

and better quality
and you get a guide to changing air bags
and you get a copy of Rave

but he's too quiet, shy and retiring to mention these things

well he's retired - so one-ish out of three ain't bad.
:D

+2 I have seen them in action, great value for money :D:D

Thanks for the help Datatek, I've just fitted a kit I got off ebay that consists of 4 valves so that I can fill all the airbags from an air line and then I can drive down to a local guy with LR diagnostic stuff and he said he would clear the faults etc. He doesn't charge much but if I need to get software of my own I will contact you Keith. Many thanks.

RSWsolutions Get the cable ASAP and do everything on your own laptop, such a pleasure:)
You may need a converter, 9 pin to usb, don't buy too cheap or it may not work

Thanks Druim, I took my rangie down to a local guy who specializes in LRs and he cleared the faults and reset the heights etc and only charged me a fiver so I'm well pleased with that so hopefully everything is sorted now (until the next problem comes along). I must thank all you guys who offer help and advice and who take the time and trouble to post information in the "How To" section, without your generous help a lot of us wouldn't be able to keep our p38s on the road as I couldn't afford to pay main dealer repair bills.
