hi,just a quick one,has anybody tried the piston and seal kit u can buy for the air pump.my pump is quiet week at the mo and im in to minds as to wether or not replace my pump ,or try the piston and seal kit.any idears? thanks .tom.

I've done it and its not that bad. The worst bit is getting the old seal off the piston, that was not easy. I bought the seal on its own off ebay but if I was doing it again I'd buy the piston and sleeve kit you can get. There is casting flash on the piston that cuts a groove in the sleeve wall when the seal wears which destroys the sleeve (I think LR left it there on purpose to create a service replacable problem which they charge ££££ for) so you will probably need to replace the sleeve anyway. That complete kit is the way to go.

Replacing the seal isnt that difficult but if the seal is badly worn then you might damage the wall of the cylinder that the piston sits within. In this case its better to just by the whole refurb kit - easy easy job to do, 20 mins max!.

-Wills :)
