Some time ago I posted a question about sound-dampening for my Landrover Defender 110 Td5 County Station Wagon (2005). Thanks for all advice. Based on that, I want to get Dynamat, possibly Dynamat Extreme.

The thing is that I live in Oman and need to get the stuff shipped out here. I have some contact details for dealers, but don't know yet if they know much or anything about what's needed for this Landrover. (I don't!) The material will be cut and fitted by me, but I don't know how to order this stuff, don't know what to ask for. I wondered if there's anyone who's done this job and can advise me exactly. How many square metres of this or that Dynamat do I need? What adhesive/cutting tool/other tools are needed? Please help

I had a quick look on the Dynamat website

The Official Dynamat Website

and it seems that it has a sticky backing, so you wont need glue.

One of these should do the trick for cutting;

[- Strima -] - Roller cutter large (L) + 2 blades RB

One of these for getting it stuck down nice and firmly

e-pastimes (the old bell t/a) Rubber Rollers

As for how much you'll need, well I guess it depends on how much you want to cover. I'd advise making templates out of newspaper, that way you can lay them out as a dress maker would to minimize waste and that should save you a few quid.

I had a look on eblag and there are a few different types of sound deadening material. The Dynamat seems expensive, but perhaps its better.
I have just finished gluing 6mm fluted rubber matting in to the load space and 2nd row floor area of my 110csw. It looks far far better than the mankey old carpet that would soak up the numerous leaks I had and has had a big improvement in the sound within the car. I'm going to be getting the Wright off road mat system for the front once I can afford it, but before that I think I might put some of that sound deadening stuff on to the roof.

wright stuff seems well nice might consider that meself
the only down side i can see is that once in place i would want to silicone seal all exsposed edges and joins as if i didnt i could see the mud and water getting underneath it and then staying there which wouldnt be good.but i think the finish of the product is well tidy so if anyone gets it post a fred on how it went and what it fitted like

Looking at the pictures it looks like its pretty much one unit piece, so from door sill to door sill is it once piece i.e. when my door leaks will all the water gather in the corner of the transmission tunnel/floor pan join instead of currently just soaking the carpet!

Does that come with the seat box part too?

thats the probs i was thinking off.as im a floor layer by trade carpet for me aint a problem..i just use offcuts of ribbed matting(cut to size of course)
and as its rubber backed it soaks up the water nicely and when they get full of mud n water i jetwash them clean again and bun g em back in.the wright stuff although water tight on top theres open edges that the water would get in below it and have nowhere to go
