Disco Auto 1996 300 tdi

Drivers electric window goes down, but sometimes will not go back up again. Could it just be the switch? If not, what else could it be?

Also the back windows don't work at all, don't know where the little box is that needs to be soldered to make it work again behind the glove box and I lost the guide which I found online. Any help appreciated.

I've just done mine, the rear windows didnt work at all and then the front window started playing up.

I followed the guide and I stripped and cleaned all the switches, ill get the link now:)

Thanks!

On my 300 tdi automatic it is a pain in the arse trying to get the bloody ECU out. Will try again tommorrow in the day light and report back, better find my solder too

I did my window ECU a couple of weeks ago, it was not to bad a job, found the ECU easy it was getting the plastic front off that was fiddley.

The dry joint was easy to spot and for the first time in almost 4 years my windows work :D

Just whipped out the ECU, what a pain that was.

Got the front two windows working correctly.

Rear windows nothing, then the back left went down but won't go back up again.

Unsure if I have soldered it correctly then, it was the bit by the hole on the ecu as seen in the video when I did that the front windows worked fine.

Any suggestions?

Another update:-

Back left window was the plug, it works down but not up. Swap the plug over and hey presto, it works. So now I have 3 working windows, but only 2 working plugs!

Back right window, still nothing. Can't see anymore problems on the ECU....however, when I press down on any of the other 3 windows (or up) I can hear clicking noise, I guess from the ECU. Nothing from the back right window then.

So a bit stuck on that one

Ok, I kept saying plugs I should have written switches.

I took out and cleaned the two switches that didn't work, and now they are all working. Inside of them where the LED is was a bunch of dirt. Cleaned it all and hey presto. However, one of the switches was a bit temperamental with the back left window, but worked fine on the front left window. So that is where it is staying.

Still no idea why the back right window doesn't work. Will give the ECU one last look before I call it quits.

Still, 3 out of 4 isn't bad!
