driver's wheel(castor/camber)

reet i have spent a day checking every noo bit added to the front end of my disco and still cant find the fooking problem ??

basicly me pikey and king fitted an axel to the front of the disco and replaced the bushs at the same time with noo polybushs its got noo tire's (again thanks to king) and its also got noo springs and pro comp shocks all round..

yet i noticed the other day that my driver's side front wheel look's cocked out(leaning in at top out at bottom) and this is causing rapid wear to the tire...

now before anyone states the obvious about tracking, tracking only change's the toe in toe out angle's and not the castor or camber angle's(which according to the stains are set at manerfacture and non ajustable)..

the stains also say's that the castor/camber is effected by fooked suspension, well since its all noo and been double checked i don't think it's down to this..

so i'm now throwing the gauntlet out to the wise world of LZ in hope's someone give's me another angle to look from that may help rectifie this fooking problem before it get's my irish wrath(and possibley a 12 gauge) aimed at it.

Hav you fiddled with the swivel housing at all? Because I've read somewhere that you can unbolt the swivel housing and rotate it to adjust the camber. Also have you have you fitted a lift kit as this can affect the camber.

hay up pikey mate..swivel housing no did drop a shim out of the swivel pins(both driver's and passenger's sides) thou to take up that slack i was on about before..

lift kit is 2 inch so shouldent radicaly change the angle's..also its only driver's side if the lift was at fault both side's would show the problem i would have thought.

althou i was thinking it may be down to the swivel ball's or more so the bearing's in the swivel ball's?

As an aside - and of no help to you, Spudy - Paddocks do camber adjusted Swivels.

Could well be the swivels. You can buy a recon kit for em.

either that or stripping this axel down and swaping all my other axel's gubbings over as i know they was fine.

i was thinking about that pikey but as posted above i still have all the bits out of the orig axel and there all like noo

its possible that yer replacement Axle has had the swivel renewed at some time an whoever did it has purrit in upside down .???

now that is a thought mondo mate..

i think the plan of action is take em off and swap them for the other axle's swivel's...may as well swap the shafts and diff too as this diff dunt feel right(but that may just me being a cnut )

and they finds stuff what aint on their website too

it will be the swivel pin causing the problem, lifting will not do a thing to the camber angle only the castor and kingpin inclination angels are effected.

if they are similar to a series swivel then the fill plug would be in the wrong place
