Any help appreciated Freelander 1 facelift.
The drivers Door window would only go down but not up. I have renewed the regulator and motor but is still the same.
Does anyone know if the rocker switches on the master door panel can be removed individually, or presuming the switch is faulty do I need to renew the whole unit.
Is there any other placesI should be looking before I spend money on a new master pad.
Many Thanks
Paul

If they are on the centre consol like the pre face lift then remove the consol then the connector taken off each switch so you can prise the switch out of the consol to replace it

With it only going one way, sounds 99% its the switch. (i'm assuming the centre switch at Handbrake brings it up okay)

Probably have to take door panel of to be able to get Switch out, but I might be wrong

You might be able to prise switch (prise from top and bottom, not sides). never tried to take out when insitu. I've always had to be changed the motor when checking switches, so panel already off.

The switches build up dirt and carbon, and then contact wont work.

Switch should be able to be stripped apart, Can be a bit of a fiddle. Recommend opening it over a towel on the kitchen table. Wee small bits drop out and can roll/bounce all over the place. Towel stops that.

Clean with a bit of electrical contact spray, or a cotton bud and a bit of meths/white spirit (no naked flames).the copper/,metal contacts you find inside it will look black. when there nice and shiney, your good to go.
