Drivers door only unlocks when lock with keyfob

Please help me people, when i lock the doors on my Freeby with my keyfob, all of them lock, then the drivers door opens all on its own, the rest stay shut, car does start no problem if that helps. If I lock it manually it will stay shut but I do have to hold the key in the locked position whilst it fights to unlock its self, when it gives up fighting I turn the key to upright so I can get it out and it will remain locked. any ideas?:doh:

here we go, newbie hasn't had an answer, having waited for all of 13 minutes, so starts getting on his high horse asking where we all are !

slightly rich coming from a newbie who hasn't even posted his location in his profile !

well, I for one am indoors.

any one else care to let Jasey Boy know where they are ?

might be worth stripping the door cards off and checking the linkages, if one is a bit bent, the door lock may not think that the lock has gone over properly so tries to release it.

im sitting in,in front of the fire.about the time the question was asked i was stripping out my propshaft in the dark thanks for asking. 13 minutes haha since i bought my gaylander 4 years ago ive had problems with the door locks.right now and for the past year or more the fob locks front passenger and rear driver side doors,the key locks all doors xept the rear passenger(which has to be opened with handle and locked with the button).


you could put my not fixing these faults down to pure laziness(crap just remembered that door will have to work for the nct),but i see these as security features,i kid myself.....but thers always something to keep on to fix on this hippo,a great little 4x4 to practice spannering.
 
I'm no expert and going from memory, but doesn't the 'superlocking' feature operate a second solenoid momentarily after the 'lock' signal to the first solenoid? Is it possible that there is a short or control box/wiring error which is causing the first solenoid to reverse its action which is what you are fighting with the key?

It may be worth using a meter to try and see which way the current is going at each lock/unlock action. Am not sure how long the solenoids are powered for.

At the weekend I was going to look at mine as the driver's door locks via the key fob but doesn't unlock, I have to use the key.

Ok, here goes, stripped door down, night mare! removed latch which was moist, dried it as much as possible put it back on and it made no difference, so, i can only assume there is damp inside the sealed unit. Reassembled the door but left the wire of the unit and everything works fine apart from the drivers door, obviously! This confirmed a faulty unit, so managed to get one from a breakers for £30 does that sound fair? Not come yet but confident this will do the trick, thanks to you all.:clap2:
 
I bought a 2nd hand lock off ebay which I fitted today, a bit fiddly but less than a hours work and all working ok (for) now.
 
you are pushing the unlock twice arnt you? freelander unlock only drivers door on first press and all others on 2nd.
