Does anyone know if Dransfield Landrover specialist is still in business in Sheffield?
It was Doug Dransfield untill he passed away and is now listed as S. Dransfield. I tried phoning them for the first time today but no reply.
I have an auto 2007 Freelander 2 Diesel and twice (while towing up hill at around 50mph) its put on the engine warning light. That resulted AA/Green flag out to clear a load of fault codes after which t seems to run fine.
It has also its has stalled on me once at a junction while not towing. I have had it to a local garage who read the fault codes after the stalling incident. They said it needed and auto electrician. and recommended Dransfield's at Stocksbridge - Tried calling today but no reply.
The Green flag guy asked if the car had been in a smash, said it was showing faults including tampered odo - tyre pressures sensors faults (not fitted to mine) - gearbox - diff - door- fault codes He listed so many I cant remember them, then he told me the caravan I was towing was too big its 1270 MTLP and 1046 Mass in Running order.
Both Green flag and AA mentioned one of the codes said something about it being held in gear for too long? I wondered if it wasn't changing down soon enough under certain conditions causing the problem.
Hence the question about my most local Landrover specialist
