Good news,they are on and with no rubbing at all.The Tyre guy checked it all for me while I turned the wheels from lock to lock on both sides.
Double checking these will fit!!!!!

Looking to the future, I'm thinking of a set of General Grabber AT for my 17" Evolution rims.
The smallest they do are 235/65 R17. Would these fit with the 40mm lift kit and 30mm spacers? They increase diameter by 58mm or 8.5%...., over the std 225/55R17.

Looking at the size on the calculator, it should fit.
Thanks. I spent a while looking at tyres online today. There is too much choice. Most of the time I will be on tarmac roads, so thinking about it do I really need such an aggressive tyre, as my annual milage is 15-20,000 miles.
Maybe I should go for a more efficient tyre.
And then put some different tyres on my 16" rims. As they are only 6J I can't go too wide.
Any suggestions for the 17's and also for the 16's?
I'm looking at winter biased for the 16's

I'd go road biased for the 17s, maytbe slight AT, then get some proper ATs with good winter reviews for the 16s in maybe 235/70/16 or 225/70/16 if you want a bit bigger than standard or 205/80/16s for good clearances. I used the Grabbers in winter in the snow and they were good, but they are not a true winter compound. The Cooper Discoverer AT3s I have chosen have a lot of siping and are good in winter and snow according to reviews despite being a winter compound.

The Michelin Latitude tour HP seem fairly road biased, efficient and quiet..., for my 17's.

It's interesting looking at the price difference between the sizes.
The 17's will be roughly £150 a corner and the 16's roughly £100 per corner.
£1250 for a set of 10 tyres :sad:

235/70/16 (29") are slightly bigger than a 205/80/16 (28.9"). Side walls are the same size.

That's what I use for Spring, Summer and Autumn. Good tyre in my opinion.

I just wonder on the width of the 235/70/16 and the spring cup. I will be using them with modulars which I 'think' is the same as using 30mm spacers. So... those with 235s and 30mm spacers- do they fit? Or those with 225s and spacers, do you think they will fit? Or modulars of course..

You'll need an offset smaller than the ET35 modulars which you can buy to make sure the 235's clear the spring cups
