The Michelin double-barrel footpump, sold by Amazon, amomg others, has received many poor reviews. If justified, this suggests to me that the item has been made with a view to (a) cutting costs and (b) not lasting long, perhaps in that huge East Asian country now responsible for turning out a vast proportion of the world’s manufactured goods and a vast proportion-in my experience-of the world’s shoddy ones. Michelin, in this case, then stick their naame on it and we’re supposed to think “Ah, Good Quality”.

So, can anyone suggest the name and model of a double-barreled footpump which is strong and fit-for-purpose (for my Defender 110), and built to last, preferably in a country with a reputation for good engineering?

All the footpumps I've used in recent years have been of poor quality. If you try and pump a landy tyre up from flat they get hot and the thin tin starts slotting where the piston goes through.:(

I hate foot pumps , you could buy them compressors that plug in thr fag lighter , mine still works well and ive had it 10yrs and it gets used too lol

biggest waste of money ever, you try pumping up a 35" tyre with one youll soon change your mind,i had the exact one you mention and on me 1st outing wiv it me tyre cam of the rim slightly and lost all air,we got it back on,haha i thought ill get me new pump out.20 mins later and not so much of an impression on the tyre the piston went so it was fooked, luckily a guy there had a tmaxx compressor which worked a treat took about 5 mins to fullt inflate the tyre, guess what im buying next time
