went to open the car up tonight using the key due to battery disconnected and when i reconnected the battery the doors kept locking and unlocking rapidly and came up keycode lockout its a 1997 2.5dse any ideas

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and unlocking the door? Isn't that a purely mechanical operation. I'm trying to picture the lock mechanism but it's a bit early for my old brain.

thats what has caused the problem in the first place !!!!!!!!!! why people disconnect batterys without reading the handbook ???????? first i dont know . it now needs re-syncing so READ your handbook and if all else fails then p.m. .cheers mozz

calm down mozz its only a motor :D:D:D I have never had any bother in past when battery had to be disconnected it usually re-syncs when i put key in ignition as but for some reason this time its thrown its keys out of the pram :D:D:D

im always calm lads , but 50% of reasons the sync is lost is because of battery removal and other 50% is r.f. recievers are kaput , so you both know what your doing !!!!!!! and thats fine by me , cheers mozz .

If the car was locked with the fob and the battery goes flat if you unlock it with the key to get under bonnet to charge battery. When you reconnect battery if doors are shut they will lock. It's a good idea to leave the drivers door open and NOT to leave keys in the car. Been there got the bloody T shirt.
