door lock Actuator problem

Hi can anyone help, I have a lhd 1997 p38, the front o/s lock Actuator has stoped working with the key fob, but will work if I press the door button up and down. As I said it is a left hand drive so it is the front passenger door.
will it be the same as the drivers door on a right hand drive?

they are different i think, take it out and strip it down, re grease and fiddle with the motor inside this usuallt gets em working again
