Door latches

My driver's door latch is stuffed. The R' Bros site shows a replacement part but an alternative MG Rover part has the same part number with an 'A' added to the end. Can someone tell me are these the same parts?
ALR9782 [LR] vs ALR9782A [MG R].

Same parts but when brands split the part numbers were changed as part of that process

Often the Rover part is cheaper than the identical LR part, go figure?

It is cheaper by about £36 or nearly $59NZ.
