Dont roar at me I have searched but need help Diagnostics?

Gents had my p38 for about 7 years done over 80k and fixed many fault (loads actually come to think of it) all with your kind help. Blew the old girl up a few months ago was going to scrap her but decided to restore her I have never bought any diagnostic kit but now want to but it seems to be changing all the time so question which is most comprehensive ?
Sorry for bringing up an old topic but reckon the info I have is out of date and would welcome your opinions put another way if you were buying today what would you buy?

Nanocom.
Not only it covers all systems as you can use it in instrument mode, very usefull to control water temperature. It even has an alarm if the temperature goes above a certain level, can save your engine.

Definatly the Nanocom Evo for the price without a doubt - does most of what it's big brother the Faultmate Extreme does, only smaller and cheaper

Thanks for input it confirms what I thought and does seem to give a lot for the price compared to a few years ago
