The engine ECU is fully OBD2 compliant so any OBD2 reader will get fault codes and many will give live data too. Something like an ELM327 Bluetooth OBD2 dongle and an Android phone or tablet running Torque will give you all live data and codes.

Otherwise if you want more than just engine information, then the Icarsoft I930 will read engine ECU, ABS ECU and SRS ECU. The I930 doesn't seem to connect to the TCM, alarm ECU or CCU which is annoying. For more complex coverage, you'll need to get a Hawkeye.

It depends on which lights are on as to which code reader will tell you what's up.

No. The ELM327 can only access OBD2 engine information on the CAN bus. The FL1 uses a K line bus for all other modules, which the ELM327 doesn't connect to. So to access ABS and SRS you need to get a dedicated LR reader.

Your choice is limited to the Icarsoft I930 which is under £100 or the more expensive Icarsoft unit which name I've forgotten at the moment. Then there's the Hawkeye which is about £250. After that it's into professional garage equipment which costs much much more.
