does a freelander have a cambelt?

Hi there
this might sound like a really silly question but does a freelander td4 2.0 2003 have a cambelt?
I have just bought a freelander and know absoloutly nothing about cars but have had a cambelt go on my old xsara so wondered about the freelander. aias there anything else i need to be warey of with freelanders.

Abi?? Are you a wimmin?? The cambelt is located behind the doorskin on the left hand side of the vehicle depending on which way you approach it, if you strip it back and dont find it you obviously have the wrong door.

Hmm, so speekin as a wumman with a LHD, would mine be behind the other door?

BTW I have no doorskins - does this mean my Landy is Jewish?

No the TD4 (which is a BMW engine) has a chain not a belt. There is no replacement interval that I am aware of, but if oil changes are neglected and/or you do lots of short journeys with a cold engine then they can still wear out...........this was an expensive mistake made by an old gent who had a new Corsa (with a timing chain). 4 years old, been to shops in village and no oil change ever. :eek:
